KEL Attorneys Banned From Florida Bankruptcy Courts

In it's order dated May 17, 2011, an Orlando Bankruptcy Judge barred the law firm of Kaufman, Englett and Lynd (KEL) "from practicing before the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Florida, including the filing of any papers and pleadings..." The Court cited "numerous missteps and lack of diligence" by KEL Attorneys. The sanction entered by the Court is incredibly rare and is one of the harshest sanctions the Court could impose. It takes some pretty serious offenses to warrant such sanctions. See the Orlando Sentinel report.
Although there is no certainty as to how long KEL Attorneys will be banned from practicing bankruptcy in the Middle District of Florida, it is clear that until the ban is lifted, KEL will not be permitted to file any bankruptcy petitions on behalf of Brevard County residence.
